Saint Andrew's Cave
Where, according to tradition, the Apostle Andrew lived and preached
Saint Andrew's Cave, near the village of Ion Corvin, is one of the most important places of pilgrimage in Romania. According to tradition, the Apostle Andrew, Romania's patron saint, lived and preached here. The cave has become a small chapel, and a monastery with a new church, a spring and quiet forest paths has grown up around it.
