The Saint Mary Monastery in Techirghiol lies at the edge of the town, close to the lake known for its therapeutic mud. Its most beautiful building is the old wooden church, brought from Maramureș and rebuilt here. Next to it stands the new monastery church, and the well-kept courtyard invites a quiet stroll.
