Caraorman Forest
Ancient oaks and sand dunes in the heart of the Danube Delta
Caraorman Forest lies between the Sulina and Sfântu Gheorghe branches of the Danube, next to the village of the same name. Oaks several hundred years old, draped in climbing plants, grow here on a sandy ridge, surrounded by dunes shaped by the wind. The area is a nature reserve and one of the quietest corners of the delta.
