Letea Forest
Wild horses, ancient oaks and sand dunes in the north of the Danube Delta
Letea Forest, located between the Chilia and Sulina branches of the Danube, is one of Romania's oldest nature reserves, protected since 1938. Centuries-old oaks draped in climbing plants grow right next to sand dunes, and herds of wild horses roam freely around the forest – a landscape unlike anywhere else in Europe.
