Histria Fortress
The oldest documented town in Romania, on the shore of Lake Sinoe
Histria was founded by Greek colonists from Miletus in the 7th century BC and remained inhabited for more than 13 centuries. Today you can walk among the defensive walls, baths, temples and residential quarters, and the museum at the entrance shows the finds from the site. The ruins lie on the shore of Lake Sinoe in a wide, quiet landscape.
